Baltimore Harbor
So I am a single woman and I love to travel. I travel based on nightlife(but really how many numbers I can get), and culture(but really I’m just tryna find an intellectual man). I am from Boston so naturally I would go to NY for all of this(that is what us Black people in Boston do). NY is fun because of its SIZE, everything in NY is done ten times more and the boroughs are so distinct you won’t have the same trip twice. So I am thinking about a summer trip and I am a city girl to the heart so I am all over the metropolitan area. I went web surfing(I can find almost anything on the web, ask about me), and came across a Forbes article(http://www.forbes.com/2004/06/24/cx_cv_624feat04single.html). Forbes compiled a list of the 10 best travel spots for singles. I saw all the usual NY,ATL,LA. When I saw Baltimore I said whoa buddy! Not the home of “The Wire”,not the home of the infamous row houses, not the home where we say “dog” and they say “doug”! Yes indeed BMore is a top vacation spot for us single people. Now I spent an afternoon in Bmore at the harbor and it was rather nice, but I would never have thought to actual spend a full vacation there. Now It has got me thinking maybe I will go to Bmore because like any great dangerous city(Boston included) there are some great vacation spots.
Bmore boasts a beautiful harbor, close proximity to the nation’s capitol DC and for you baseball fans the Babe Ruth birth museum. Bmore also has 50 free things you can do in the city and I’ve just picked out some of the interesting ones.
As a major cultural destination for the greater Baltimore region, The Baltimore Museum of Art organizes and presents a variety of dynamic exhibitions and innovative programs throughout the year and frequently hosts special events with cultural and educational partners. The BMA is free for everyone, every day, so that great art is accessible to all.
Climbing the 228 steps to the top of the first monument to George Washington provides an excellent view of the city from historic Mount Vernon where it is located. (A $1 donation is suggested, but not mandatory)
The 745-acre Druid Hill Park ranks among the oldest landscaped public parks in the United States.(if the name sounds familiar, that is because the r&b group Dru Hill adopted the name to pay homage to their hometown)
Like all tourist cities Baltimore has nightlife, dining and attractions. I think I may be in BMORE this summer. It seems like the wave right now.
